All set to release on September 2nd, That Girl in Yellow Boots should be a refreshing change from the kind of films we have been watching these days. Though Bollywood directors are churning out family entertainers, the lack of intelligent cinema is always felt. And I personally feel that Anurag Kashyap is able enough to give a unique, but good cinema to the audiences.
Kalki Koechlin, who has given some decent performances in Dev.D and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara plays the lead role as The Girl in Yellow Boots who is in search of her father. The storyline sounds intense and different from the candyfloss movies, slapstick comedies or any other formula films we usually get to see.
My expectations are high on this film given the unconventional storyline which was partly written by Kalki herself, Naseeruddin Shah‘s presence and of course Anurag’s direction. I loved the title of the film in the first place and the above wallpaper too. It reflects the taste of the director which I am liking. The film has been officially screened at a couple of film festivals and has received a positive response.
After Bodyguard‘s release this Wednesday, That Girl in Yellow Boots would be a regular Friday release for which I am waiting.
